Finance Associate – Private Equity (Chicago Loop)

A long-standing, institutional private equity firm is hiring an Audit-trained Finance Associate to join a lean, high-caliber finance team. The firm is deliberately waiting until mid-April to interview candidates finishing busy season.

Target background

• 1–3 years of public accounting audit experience
• Financial Services clients required
• CPA or CPA-pursuit strongly preferred
• Big 4 or top-tier national firm background
• Strong fundamentals and high ownership mindset

Role highlights

• Direct exposure to CFO and Controller
• Blend of fund accounting and management company accounting
• Close interaction with the investment team
• Steep learning curve without lifestyle burnout
• Normal weeks with light peaks around quarterly / annual reporting

Compensation

• $90–95k base + bonus
• Flexibility up to $100–105k for standout profiles

Logistics

• Chicago Loop
• Hybrid: 4 days in office, Fridays remote
• Interviews begin late March/early April
