A 500+ bed, Magnet-journey medical center is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Care Management to provide clinical and operational leadership across inpatient and Emergency Room departments
. This leader will oversee a team of approximately 30 FTEs and play a key role in advancing patient flow, care coordination, and outcomes across the organization.
- Provide direct leadership and oversight for Care Management staff supporting inpatient and Emergency Room services
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of ~30 FTEs, including hiring, performance management, and professional development
- Ensure effective care coordination, discharge planning, and utilization management to support safe, timely transitions of care
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing leaders, social work, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient throughput and length of stay
- Monitor quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and patient outcomes; implement process improvements as needed
- Support Magnet journey initiatives and evidence‑based practice within Care Management services
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and budgetary responsibilities for the department
- Serve as a change leader during system initiatives, growth, and operational improvements
- Active RN license (BSN required; MSN or higher preferred)
- 3+ years of leadership experience in Care Management, Case Management, or Utilization Review within an acute care hospital
- Strong knowledge of inpatient and Emergency Room workflows
- Experience managing large teams and complex operations in a hospital setting
- Familiarity with CMS regulations, discharge planning standards, and utilization management practices
- Strong communication, collaboration, and change management skills
- Leadership role within a large, 500+ bed medical center
