The Clinical Care Attendant assists the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and Physician Assistant with front office and back office duties in outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. This role supports the Provider and clinic team in delivering patient care in the clinic setting, performing clerical and clinical tasks, including diagnostic imaging, with knowledge of applicable standards, data, and safety procedures.
The Attendant acts as a patient advocate and maintains contact with Providers, patients and families, community agencies, and clinical staff.

Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA);
Registered in Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT);
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA). - Education: Certificate of Completion:

- Clinical Excellence/Patient Care:
Perform and/or assist with clinical procedures consistent with training and licensure under supervision of Provider in exam suite. Greet and welcome patients upon arrival; escort to exam suite; complete patient registration and associated paperwork or assist in on-line registration as needed; escort and perform patient check out; assist patient with completion of patient satisfaction survey if needed at check out. - Assist in the delivery of primary health care services and patient care management by performing diagnostic imaging in an ambulatory setting.
- Obtain patients' review of systems and history, measure vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and complete all necessary documentation in the patient’s chart and per clinical protocol.
- Offer patient convenience items (water, coffee, tea, warm blankets) to ensure comfort in exam suite and/or lobby.
- Follow symptom-initiated protocols in clinic operations; perform labs as ordered or directed by protocols or provider.
- If the clinic offers retail medications, offer this option and administer prescriptions as directed by the provider.
- Review after-visit summary and provide instructions as instructed by the Provider.
- Call all patients back 48-72 hours post-visit for mandatory follow-up phone calls.
- Maintain professional communication with patients regarding results as directed by Carle policy and Provider.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with supplies, maintain instruments, and sterilize as required.
- Take, relay, and process messages from patient, Provider, and pharmacy per training and licensure.
- Maintain logs and required checks (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, and sterilization fluid changes) per Carle policy.
- Perform quality control on radiation-emitting equipment and darkroom equipment to ensure optimum image quality.
- Complete appropriate forms for recordkeeping and properly store films.
- Employ proper radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

Maintain Carle and department policies, procedures and objectives; perform functions other than described due to extenuating circumstances; may serve other departments as assigned; stay informed by attending meetings and reviewing communications; maintain regular attendance; comply with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines; comply with Personnel policies and procedures; monitor environmental conditions to secure protected health information; adhere to Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies;
seek opportunities to improve quality and customer service; perform all duties consistent with training and licensure; perform other duties as requested by Clinic Manager to facilitate operations.
The compensation range for this position is $29.33 per hour - $50.45 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
