Chemist

Currently I have an opening for a Chemist located in North Chicago, IL. Details for the position are as follows:

Pay Range: $28-$38/hour

Job Description:

• 12-month contract with the possibility of extending or converting to permanent based on performance and budget.
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Plan and execute assigned laboratory tasks utilizing standard procedures and technical understanding of various techniques to complete assigned tasks.
• Develop protocols for more complex tests or experiments performed with less defined assays and parameters.
• Apply basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and instrument related systems.
• Presents conclusions of defined experiments.
• Ensures safety and GxP requirements are met when performing tasks.
• Ensures timely and GxP compliant delivery of high quality precise data.

Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Biology or related field with minimum 2-5 years lab experience (pharmaceutical industry preferred) or Master’s Degree.
• Experienced use of analytical instruments including HPLC and chromatography data systems (i.e., Empower, Chromeleon).
• Strong documentation skills, familiarity with GMP, GLP.
• Able to present findings to larger groups.
