Food Supervisor

Position:
Supervisor – Gate Gourmet Operations

Location:

USA (Full‑Time, No Travel)

• Supervise employees to ensure security, safety, food specifications, quality assurance, sanitation, HACCP, and FDA regulations are followed.
• Control labor and food costs per company specifications.
• Maintain quality production standards for all accounts.
• Manage and update company policies, procedures, and specification books for airline customers.
• Prepare management reports (attendance, HACCP, labor) as required.
• Ensure safety, quality, compliance to customer specs and regulatory requirements.
• Accurate coding of products according to Gate Gourmet procedures.
• Conduct inventory of Gate Gourmet products and customer materials to minimize waste.
• Maintain daily temperature logs and other required logs.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance with maintenance staff and report issues.
• Evaluate performance, coach, counsel and prepare corrective action for employees, liaise with HR.
• Balance work‑flow and determine staffing needs.
• Ensure compliance with Wage & Hour policy, rest and meal breaks, and company processes.
• Train and monitor employees on work procedures to maximize productivity and minimize labor and food expenses.
• Schedule employees and monitor manpower planning.
• Promote employee retention and reduce turnover.
• Review and ensure correct cost centers, job titles, and wage scales for union employees.
• Ensure all employees complete required training, including Serv Safe.

• Annual Salary: $60,000.00 / year

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED required;
  Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience:
  
  2+ years supervisory experience in high‑volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment.
• Leadership skills to manage a staff of 30+ hourly employees.
• Labor relations experience a plus.
• Training ability and proficiency in giving constructive feedback.
• Excellent time‑management, organizational, analytical, communication skills.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to obtain Serv Safe Certification (required, preferred).
• Language:
  English. Bilingual in English and another language such as Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Hindi, Polish is a plus.
