The Custodian is a full-time, on-site role based er and Paul Catholic School in Scott, LA. This position is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and orderly school facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and common areas. Daily tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and replenishing supplies. The Custodian also assists with minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, reporting repairs, and helping set up rooms and equipment for school events and activities.

The role requires adherence to safety procedures, proper use of cleaning materials and equipment, and regular communication with school administration and staff to support a healthy learning environment.

• Possession of basic custodial skills, including cleaning, sanitizing, floor care, and restroom maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
• General building maintenance abilities, including minor repairs, basic tool use, and routine facility checks.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and complete work within scheduled time frames.
• Reliability and professionalism, with consistent attendance and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety practices, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and adherence to school safety guidelines.
• Effective communication skills to interact respectfully with students, staff, families, and visitors.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior custodial or facility maintenance experience in a school or similar setting is beneficial.
• Willingness to support the school’s mission and values in a respectful and inclusive manner.
