Summary Of Position

The Pool Technician is part of our Resort's Repair & Maintenance / Engineering Team, and is responsible for maintaining all pools, spas and fountains, keeping them in good repair. The goal is an attractive and well-maintained water experience for all guests and patrons.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain the physical appearance of all pools, spas, and fountains on the Resort property. This includes monitoring and managing the water’s chemical balance, pumps, filters, and overall physical properties with the intent to produce clean, clear, and attractive water features.
  • Order and monitor supply levels for all pool maintenance.
  • Report major repairs and items that are not repairable to management.
  • Keep detailed repair and maintenance logs.
  • Other special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies to perform job functions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer and/or the Director of Engineering.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Some experience with pool maintenance required.
  • Certificates or Licenses: Certified Pool Operator.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of all maintenance trades including electrical, plumbing, water chemistry, and natural gas properties as well as the related use of hand and power tools.

Knowledge of safety and handling procedures of all pool and spa chemicals.

Ability to learn and use related tools including hand and power tools.

Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and push and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds, carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk around the property for the majority of the work period.
  • Ability to memorize and perform Resort Standards, AAA Diamond standards, and Department and Service Standards.

    Maintain a neat, organized workspace, maintaining important documents pertinent to job.
  • Communicates effectively:
    Speaks and listens in a clear, thorough, and timely manner, effectively reading and writing, using the English language.
  • Professional Appearance:
    Exhibits an appearance appropriate for a four-diamond resort (Specific grooming standards are available for review).
Working Conditions
  • This is a safety sensitive position and as such, is subject to our Company's Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy and will be subject to random drug screenings.
  • This position requires extensive time outdoors and around the entire property.
  • Actual hours may vary dependent on business need.
  • Attendance as scheduled is a critical element in all positions at The Scott Resort & Spa.
