Summary
:
Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas
• Sweeps, scrubs, finishes, and polishes floor
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, draperies; dusts furniture and equipment; polishes metalwork
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills
• Empties wastebaskets, and cleans ashtrays
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: The work environment may include exposure to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles; noise level can be loud.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; visual acuity required includes close and distance vision, ability to adjust focus.

Education/

Experience:

No prior experience or training required.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group interactions with customers, clients, and other employees in English.

Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; perform operations with units of American money, weight, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions; handle standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Certificates and Licenses: No certifications needed.
