Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
The Maintenance Engineer maximizes the reliability, uptime, and performance of manufacturing equipment, automated production lines, and plant utilities through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting, reliability engineering, disciplined use of CMMS systems, strict safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime and support high-volume manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
+ Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on manufacturing equipment and automated production lines.
+ Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
+ Use CMMS platforms to create, update, and close work orders, maintain accurate asset history, plan preventive maintenance, and generate maintenance reports.
+ Diagnose complex equipment issues using PLC troubleshooting methods and other diagnostic tools to restore equipment to optimal performance.
+ Support plant utilities and facility systems to ensure continuous and reliable operation of production environments.
+ Apply reliability engineering principles to identify root causes of failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance practices, equipment performance, and waste reduction.
+ Adhere to safety standards and procedures while performing all maintenance activities and promote a safe work culture.
+ Collaborate with production and engineering teams to plan maintenance activities that support high-volume manufacturing schedules.
+ Document maintenance work clearly and accurately to support regulatory, quality, and internal reporting requirements.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of hands-on maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial production, or facilities environments.
+ Strong troubleshooting capability across mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
+ Proficiency in using CMMS platforms for work orders, asset history, preventive maintenance planning, and maintenance reporting.
+ Solid understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
+ Experience performing maintenance repair and general maintenance tasks in an industrial setting.
+ Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems.
+ Hands-on experience with pneumatics and related components.
+ Strong electrical maintenance skills and familiarity with industrial electrical systems.
+ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment while prioritizing multiple maintenance activities.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+
Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent PLC platforms.
+ Exposure to robotics or advanced automation systems.
+ Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments such as ISO- or FDA-governed quality systems.
+ in Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
+ Six Sigma Green Belt, PMP, or related reliability or maintenance certification is preferred.
+ Demonstrated experience leading maintenance waste-reduction or process improvement projects.
+ Alignment with a mission-driven environment focused on protecting lives and delivering high-quality products.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role, working Monday through Friday, supporting manufacturing and facilities operations across locations between Mesa and Scottsdale. The position is based in a high-volume, industrial production environment with automated equipment, PLC-controlled systems, and plant utilities. The Maintenance Engineer works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams in a mission-driven culture that emphasizes protecting lives, equipment reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scottsdale, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
