Performs a variety of skilled work in maintaining and repairing the City’s water or wastewater reclamation transmission, regulatory and related equipment.

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to the mid‑point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and the mid‑point for this position is $35.94/hour.

• A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
• One year experience in water pump operation and water delivery systems or industrial mechanical/machinery experience.
• Any equivalent combination of education and/or job‑related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

• Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Arizona driver’s license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date.
• Must possess, or obtain within six months of promotion or hire, a valid, unrestricted Arizona Class "B" Commercial Driver License (CDL) with the required endorsements for water or wastewater assignments.
• Must possess or obtain a Grade I operator certification within one year of hire or promotion from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality within the disciplines of Wastewater Treatment or Wastewater Collection.
• Must possess or obtain within one year of hire a 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Must possess or obtain within one year of hire a general backflow device tester in the State of Arizona.
• Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during active employment, regardless of whether the employee is approved for remote work.
