The Department of Corrections is searching for an Electronics Trade Instructor to join the State Correctional Institution s position plays an essential role in maintaining reliable electronic systems across the facility, while also sharing your expertise with inmates in a structured and supportive learning environment.

- Electronic System Maintenance: Perform upkeep on cameras, telephones, networking lines, and perimeter detection systems
- Equipment Operation: Use testing devices and tools to maintain CCTV systems, alarms, controls, and related components
- Inmate Crew Oversight: Direct inmate workers, assign tasks, and review work quality
- Technical Instruction: Teach inmates the methods, procedures, and safe use of electronic tools and equipment
- Record Management: Maintain inventories, training records, work documentation, and supply requests
- Security Practices: Conduct searches of inmates and work areas to ensure a secure environment

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
