THE POSITION

The Semi Skilled Laborer role with the Department of Human Services offers a chance to support essential projects that keep Warren State Hospital running smoothly. - Building Maintenance:
Handle small repairs such as carpentry, painting, electrical fixes, and plumbing tasks. - Grounds Care:
Maintain outdoor areas by mowing, pruning, clearing debris, and removing snow. - Equipment Use:
Operate hand and power tools and assist skilled trades workers during larger projects. - Material Handling:
Load and unload supplies, move furniture or equipment, and transport materials as needed. - Facility Support:
Clean buildings and outdoor spaces to help maintain a safe and orderly environment. - Vehicle Upkeep:
Check and service vehicles and equipment to keep them in proper working order.
- Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.

As needed. - Telework:
No telework option. - Salary:
Starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
- One year of laboring work experience including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Possession of a valid PA non‑commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
