Impact of the RoleWorking supervisor of a team (spends a portion of time performing the work supervised) or supervises the daily activities of production team members. Must have one or more of any direct report type. Analyses information to solve on-going problems and implements procedures and approaches to complete work. Responsible for results of the team. Provides direction to team using extensive knowledge of established precedents and practices.

Supervises a crew performing routine preventive maintenance and safety inspection operations for a plant's mechanical equipment, control systems or power distribution systems. Follows a daily and weekly schedule to effectively assign maintenance and repair tasks and may use a work order system to track work orders. Oversees preventive maintenance, repair, inspection, and calibration processes to identify wear, damage, or leaks, replace filters or belts, or apply lubrication to mechanical devices.
Selects, schedules, and coordinates vendors and outside service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance projects. Maintains a replacement and spare part inventory at required levels. Trains and coaches the team. Ensures all work and material handling follow established safety procedures and regulations. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.
Associate's Degree and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. This position is Safety-Sensitive.
