Job OverviewThe Field Service Technician provides field technical support for Ingersoll Rand products, delivering customer‑focused service 24/7. The role collaborates with the broader Ingersoll Rand team to share technical knowledge, leverages incentives, and strives for a go‑to reputation for field service excellence.
Responsibilities- Provide technical support during repair and/or installation of Ingersoll Rand equipment at customer sites, ensuring standards and equipment integrity.
- Maintain safe work practices, report safety incidents and near misses promptly, and pursue a goal of zero lost‑time incidents.
- Improve customer responsiveness by making sales calls, performing technical walk‑downs, and offering solutions that differentiate Ingersoll Rand proposals.
- Complete required reports (Service Reports, Customer Call Reports, Expense Reports, Time Sheets) promptly to support customer follow‑up and accurate invoicing.
- Identify and propose process or procedural improvements to enhance customer response time and data accuracy.
- Adhere to Department Guidelines and Procedures to uphold service quality.
- Maintain proficiency with vibration analysis and laser alignment equipment for balancing and testing.
- Generate sales leads from customers for additional support, populate CRM data, and support Ingersoll Rand’s aftermarket visibility.
- 3+ years of relevant technical background (millwright, maintenance, engineering, field service) or equivalent experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to pass a motor‑vehicle background check; an assigned vehicle is provided.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Excellent collaboration and time‑management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
- High moral and ethical standards; integrity evident in all actions.
- Organized, independent, and team‑friendly work ethic.
- Capability to build and sustain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and sales representatives.
- Comfortable with virtual collaboration tools.
- Bilingual in Spanish (highly desirable).
- Technical schooling or coursework toward a degree in a technical field.
- Evidence of increasing responsibility and leadership experience.
- Experience specifying replacement parts for high‑engineered equipment.
- Industrial sales or technical selling experience.
- Experience troubleshooting vibration, system, and aerodynamic problems.

- Position is remote; candidates must live near a major airport in one of the listed states.
- Up to 80% travel, including potential international travel.
$65,000 k – $85,000 k annually (range based on skills, experience, certifications, and location).
