Job Description
UW Medical Center‑Montlake Environmental Services has an opportunity for Day Hospital Custodian.
WORK SCHEDULE- 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
- Day shift
- 7:30am-4:00pm – Rotating every other weekend
Maintaining cleanliness and care of facilities in inpatient and non‑patient areas and administrative offices as assigned.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure.
- Removes and properly handles soiled linen; disinfects and remakes beds in patient rooms; dusts and wet mops hard floors with disinfectant.
- Performs blood borne pathogen and chemical spill containment and clean‑up according to procedure.
- Strips, cleans, buffs, and applies finish to floors using high‑speed floor buffers, polishers, and automated floor scrubbers.
- Performs in‑between case cleaning and terminal cleaning of surgical, obstetrical, and invasive procedure rooms including flood mopping and disinfecting according to procedure.
- Vacuums and spot‑clean carpets; operates automated carpet shampooers and extractors.
- Performs cleaning and related activities in areas within a reasonable distance outside of the facility using hand‑operated tools or small power equipment to remove snow or debris, and sweep sidewalks or stairs.
- Complies with safety policies and procedures and medical center emergency and disaster procedures.
Physical ability to perform required work.
Compensation, Benefits and Position DetailsPay Range Minimum: $21.84 hourly
Pay Range Maximum: $29.40 hourly
