Job SummaryIron Mountain is seeking a motivated Maintenance/ Destruction Technician to join our Operations team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately and securely processing and destroying all materials delivered to the facility.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)In this role, you will:
- Execute the material destruction process, including cutting open bags, dumping payloads, emptying and sorting material by grade.
- Maintain operational efficiency by safely operating destruction machinery, performing regular equipment cleaning, and handling emergency equipment repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance by maintaining strict security of all customer material and vehicles, and keeping the work area clean, following all safety and regulatory standards.
- Perform routine inspections of Shred Machinery
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues
- Complete preventive maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns
- Operate hand tools
- Keep Maintenance log
The ideal candidate will have:
- Current experience in a production or warehousing environment.
- Proven ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy bags, pushing rolling carts, and pulling two-and four-wheeled containers weighing up to 225 pounds.
- Strong knowledge of machinery operation, with preference given to candidates possessing Bobcat and Forklift experience.
- Ability to work an 8-hour shift in a non-climate controlled atmosphere, which includes about five hours spent on machine operation (Forklift/Bobcat).
- Rate: $23.17-$26.08 per hour.

Reasonably expected salary range: $48,200.00 - $60,300.00
Please note that an employee's starting salary may vary based on a variety of factors. Where State, Municipal, Provincial, Territorial or other legal minimum wages exceed the federal minimum wage, employees are entitled to the higher rate.
