We have multiple Parks/Grounds Maintenance Worker positions available, offering a great opportunity to make a positive impact in Pierce County. As a Temporary (Extra-Hire) Maintenance/Grounds Technician, you will work in diverse park settings and facilities alongside a supportive team of parks professionals. This hands-on role includes tasks such as mowing, trimming, grooming ball fields, closing parks, custodial work, landscaping, facility repairs, and working at athletic complexes.

You will also help with setting up and tearing down for special events and rentals, all while enjoying the outdoors and contributing to spaces that enhance the quality of life for our community.

Core Daily Responsibilities

The variety of work performed in this position includes a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks for grounds, buildings, structures, and equipment.

  • Perform general parks maintenance work, such as, but not limited to, weeding, trimming, and mowing.
  • Perform maintenance work, such as but not limited to facilities cleaning and custodial work.
  • Be able to work independently.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to safely lift, push and pull 50lbs
  • Ability to work all terrains in all weather conditions
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Current driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in grounds keeping, including weeding, trimming, mowing, and facility maintenance

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
