Maintenance Engineer

Department Description

The Plant Engineering Department at the UW Medical Center – Northwest helps UW Medicine fulfill its mission to improve the health of the public by ensuring general maintenance and repairs are completed efficiently and quickly to maintain a safe patient care environment.

Responsibilities
  • Performs routine maintenance, repair and troubleshooting work throughout the hospital.
  • Completes work orders in a timely and efficient manner and communicates completion of work order to the requestor and Senior Lead Engineer.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
  • Facilitates quality and professional grade repairs.
  • Identifies potential maintenance and safety problems and notifies the Facilities Manager of all such hazards and recommends repairs as appropriate.
  • Acts as a project coordinator with outside vendors.
  • Utilizes safe work habits and maintains work area in an orderly manner.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3rd Grade Boiler license from the City of Seattle
  • 2+ years maintenance experience
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$36.55 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$53.15 hourly
