Application Specialist, 2nd Shift – Oak Creek, WI

PPG Industries is looking to add an application specialist to our team in Oak Creek, WI to support our Automotive Parts and Accessories (APA) team.

As the application specialist, you will be part of the Automotive Parts and Accessories organization. You will contribute to productivity of APAD Technical and Quality Control Spray Rooms through preventative maintenance, applicator and machine repair, and development of new processes and equipment. You will also work with lab associates, maintenance mechanics, and plant production personnel.

You will report to the Applications Supervisor.

You will work onsite at our Oak Creek, WI facility.

• Follow all PPG safety protocols and encourage a broad safety culture in a laboratory work environment.
• Work in small team environments to accomplish goals.
• Work with hand tools and power tools to maintain, repair, modify, or fabricate spray equipment.
• Understand the functionality and have the ability to repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment (air and fluid lines, pumps, regulators, and valves etc.).
• Prepare equipment for lab technicians and run spray equipment for testing and troubleshooting purposes.
• Develop and implement processes to improve safety, ergonomics, and workflow in spray rooms.
• Provide coverage for the spray rooms to minimize downtime.
• Positively contribute in a team environment, collaborate with team members, and support team engagement initiatives.
• Maintain an accurate, neat notebook.
• Document all observations and training, including unusual results.
• Communicate results and observations to direct supervisor.
• Accept and use feedback.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background in spray equipment and general maintenance is highly recommended.
• Paint shop experience or a technical college degree would be beneficial, as well as a bachelor’s or higher STEM degree preferred.
