Job Description
THE SCHOOL BOARD OF HIGHLANDS COUNTY
POSITION TITLE:
Machine Operator
ASSIGNMENT:
Machine Operator - Print Shop
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift cases of copy paper weighing approximately fifty (50) pounds.
- Physical Requirements
:
Ability to perform essential functions and tasks which may include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force as frequently as necessary; lifting, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing, if required - Satisfactory clearance of a Criminal History Records check and drug screening.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and demonstrated competency in using equipment common to a print shop (i.e., copiers, computers, folding machines, binding machines, shrink wrap machines).
- Operates multiple machines requiring prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Demonstrated skills in keyboarding
PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates production copiers to complete copying jobs in a professional and timely manner.
- Assists with the daily log of jobs requested and jobs completed.
- Operates shrink-wrap machine on an as-needed basis.
- Operates electronic paper cutter on an as needed basis.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Assists in the operation of the print shop computer specifically in the area of graphics.
- Assists with design layouts for copying and printing jobs utilizing a variety of computer software.
- Assists with bookkeeping functions for the Print Shop such as payroll and entering purchase orders for Print Shop supplies.
- Files all paperwork and other information sources as needed.
- Works with an attitude of cooperation and service with other SBHC employees and customers
- Communicates with customers orally in the English language either using a telephone or in face-to-face conversations.
- Ability to Comprehend and follow oral and written instructions.
- Completes other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
TERM:
Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process
APPRAISAL:
Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board policies
PAY GRADE:
According to the School Board of Highlands County Non-Instructional Salary Schedule
