Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing and assisting with property maintenance and repairs.
SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing and assisting with property maintenance and repairs.
Essential Functions- Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility including, but not limited to, guest rooms, meeting rooms and lobby area.
- Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment.
- Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC work and masonry.
- Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance needs.
- Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention.
- Maintain the physical condition of the hotel according to established operating and safety standards, ensuring that service requests and repairs are made correctly and in a timely manner.
- Check on all guest room electrical appliances and circuits, including refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems, making repairs where necessary.
- Provide guest room service/repair status to Front Desk, General Manager, and Executive Housekeeper.
- Perform general carpentry, tiling, painting and wall surface repairs.
- Respond in a timely, courteous manner to guest questions, complaints, or requests.
- Properly maintains tools, work spaces, and equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance checklists and other maintenance records.
- General maintenance experience required.
- Experience in hotel maintenance preferred.
- Attention to detail.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
This job operates in an indoor hotel environment and outside. This job continuously uses tools and safety equipment. This job is occasionally exposed to fumes, gases, odors, dust, and biohazards.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, supplies or equipment; reach with hands and arms overhead and below the knees including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping; climb stairs; communicate or listen. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or place products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
