Part-time position – Sedalia, MO – Pettis County.
Position SummaryThe Custodian supports the mission of the Center for Human Services (CHS) by ensuring the health, safety, and functional cleanliness of assigned facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure building and grounds are cleaned and operational in compliance with quality standards required by licensing and sanitation regulations and complete daily and monthly tasks in accordance with the Housekeeping Checklist.
- Clean sinks, toilets, mirrors, and refill soap, towel, paper towel, toilet paper, bank sanitary napkins, and replace air fresheners and batteries in dispensers daily.
- Empty trash from building daily.
- Sanitize all surfaces (sinks, doorknobs, light switches) daily.
- Clean glass doors and windows weekly or more often as needed.
- Pick up and remove trash from outside as needed.
- Dust public areas and lobbies and scrub walls weekly or more often if needed.
- Maintain floor integrity using floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, and wet/dry mop; vacuum carpeted floors in classrooms daily; wet/dry mop and sanitize all floors daily; buffer floors if required.
- Complete paperwork necessary for documentation of housekeeping functions by creating checklists, submitting repair work orders, and maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies through weekly ordering.
- Ensure safety precautions and compliance with all CHS and OSHA safety regulations by performing building inspections, securing buildings upon exit, and reporting incidents and injuries per CHS policies.
- Create an environment of accountability by using the timekeeping system to clock in and out, transferring time correctly, working an extended or modified schedule when required, training new staff and substitutes on housekeeping tasks, and performing other duties as assigned.
- Less than a high school diploma is acceptable; high school equivalency or certificate is required. Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment is required.

- Frequently required to stand for prolonged periods, bend, stoop, and carry objects weighing 30 pounds or less.
- Requires the ability to move furniture to accomplish cleaning.
