Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Your Mission
To perform service (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment at assigned Hiab locations in line with Manager’s instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships and following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and perform service, troubleshoot preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment on Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skip loaders & Hoists following Manager’s instructions.
- Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements.
- Stay up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and complete technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager.
- Respond to customer queries and concerns to maximize satisfaction and follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines.
- Maintain adequate records, documentation and submit daily reports as specified by the District Service Manager.
- Recognize sales opportunities and communicate them to District Service Manager.
- Coach or tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary.
- Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follows Quality System rules.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card.
- Valid Driver’s License (no more than one moving violation in the last year, or two violations within a two-year period).
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations experience.
- Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Own required tools.
- Knowledge of, understanding, and compliance with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
