Position: Service & Yard Assistant at Eclipse Marine Seneca | Seasonal | Ideal for College Students

Eclipse Marine Seneca is seeking a reliable and safety‑conscious individual to join our Service Department as a Part‑Time Service & Yard Assistant (Lot Crew). This dynamic role involves a mix of hands‑on responsibilities, including maneuvering and transporting boats safely, keeping the service area organized and clean, and providing support to our technicians to streamline our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the service team to prioritize boat movements for service repairs.
  • Safely transport boats throughout the lot using tractors, trucks, or other equipment.
  • Perform in‑water boat movements, including launches, retrievals, and assisting with lake tests.
  • Transport boats to and from customer locations and trailer them as needed.
  • Perform boat cleaning, washing, and detailing.
  • Inspect service docks and lot throughout the day to ensure boats are properly tied, parked securely, and have covers installed.
  • Report newly dropped‑off boats to the Service Admin, ensuring each boat is tagged with the repair order (RO) and customer name.
  • Maintain clean and organized lot and service areas, free of trash, dirt, leaves, and debris.
  • Provide support to technicians by retrieving tools, organizing work spaces, and assisting with basic tasks.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections, schedule routine maintenance, and report any malfunctions, safety hazards, or operational issues to management.
  • Monitor and uphold safety protocols to protect personnel, customers, and property.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting visitors, providing guidance, and addressing concerns.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations departments to achieve broad objectives across the facility.
  • Assist with occasional on‑site and off‑site promotional events and boat shows, including set‑up and breakdown.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned for success.
Travel Requirements
  • Occasional travel within a 50‑mile radius using a company vehicle to retrieve and deliver customer boats.
  • Infrequent travel within Georgia and South Carolina for promotional events or off‑site meetings.
Working Conditions
  • Labor performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Constant operation of tractors, vehicles, and other motorized equipment.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and other physically demanding tasks.
  • Operations near water and on docks with uneven terrain.
Salary

The anticipated pay range for this position is $13.00 – $18.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, business needs, and location.

Required Qualifications
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Comfortable towing and hauling vessels up to 30 ft.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Dependable and commitment to maintaining safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean motor‑vehicle record that meets company standards, plus a clear background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with on‑road towing.
  • Proficiency in boat trailering and hauling.
  • Familiarity with operating heavy equipment such as tractors.
  • Basic understanding of boats and boating safety practices.
  • Fundamental mechanical skills and ability to use simple hand tools.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts.
