Laborer

Immediate opportunities for energetic Maintenance Workers to join the efforts of the Anne Arundel County Government. Laborers will be responsible for directing people coming to the facility, general maintenance, and upkeep of the grounds.

Responsibilities:

• Grass cutting
• Roadside litter pick-up
• Cleaning buildings
• Maintaining grounds, digging ditches
• Lifting up to 90 lbs. alone, lifting up to 180 lbs. with partner
• Ability to direct traffic/trucks
• Ability to acquire some skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in the area of assignment
• Perform routine maintenance of the facility
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs
• Provide oversight to the buildings through cleaning, painting, sweeping and trash removal
• Handle light landscaping tasks, such as lawn mowing, trimming, and snow removal
• Interact and assist the public with requests

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a background check
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions
• Dependability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
