Building Monitor

• Be familiar with all scheduled activities in your assigned building or park during your shift (refer to weekly schedules and any additional programming information provided by your manager).
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain the appearance and upkeep of the assigned building, including dusting, cleaning windows, watering plants, and vacuuming the main floor.
• Receive from manager or designee any additional daily instructions regarding program setups, rosters, permits and special directions for dealing with building or park users and situations during your work shift.
• Effectively communicate with youths, teens, and adults to enforce rules and resolve issues.
• Communicate with building custodian throughout the shift to make sure all maintenance requirements are fulfilled and any necessary maintenance documents are completed.
• Be on a regular schedule of walking through the building or park and be alert to the needs of our employees and the general public; being visible and available for service.
• Must be responsible and can work independently with limited supervision.
• Patrol the areas of the building or park assigned by the manager and make sure that instructors and public users are abiding by the established rules and offer assistance to both as needed.
• Make sure that all building or park rules, regulations & safety requirements are enforced.
• Receive and carry out the directives given by the manager.
• Assist in the setting up of equipment and moving of requested equipment and supplies for the Recreation instructors and leaders. This position may be asked to set up and operate audio‑visual equipment (computers, projectors, PA systems).
• May assist the manager team with youth programming, special events, or other items as assigned.
• Report any issues or incidents to your manager.

Building/Park Monitor takes charge and directs the administering of first‑aid treatment or personally places calls to 9-1-1. Punctuality and reliability are required. Perform other duties as assigned. Assure that the public users of the building and parks are met with a positive, friendly, and respectful manner. Problem‑solving, conflict‑resolution and organizational skills a plus. Will be required to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Must be 18 years old or older. Shifts available 8:30 am – 12:30 pm and 12:30 – 5:00 pm; weekends and holidays may be required.
