Venue Nation is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician at Mystic Lake Amphitheater to support our outdoor venue on a seasonal, as‑needed basis during the summer months. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson or facilities professional looking to pick up flexible, part‑time work without a fixed weekly schedule. The technician will handle small to mid‑scale repair and improvement projects that are currently outsourced to contractors.
Work will be assigned on a project or call‑in basis, depending on venue needs.
This is a Part‑Time Seasonal position.
Responsibilities- Keep the venue safe and clean at all times, including cleaning and disinfecting all fixtures, floors, mirrors, doors, and walls of restrooms; keep all guest‑facing areas free of trash; restock restroom paper materials and hygiene products as needed.
- Keep work areas neat and orderly, clean equipment and assist with other cleaning duties as assigned.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
- Show CARE by participating in the venue’s sustainability program, which could include implementing programs that conserve resources, prevent waste (such as sorting waste and collecting recycling), and educating fans about our efforts.
- Partner with fellow staff at the end of show to close the venue; this may include collecting recyclables from the lawn or reserved section, picking up and properly storing event equipment such as lawn chairs and barricades.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 1–3 years of facilities, maintenance, or building operations experience.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety compliance standards.
- Experience performing plumbing, electrical, and general construction/repair work.
- Trade certification or state/local licensing (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
- Experience in live event, entertainment, or high‑traffic venue environments.
- Physical activities include walking, talking, seeing, hearing, pushing, balancing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and handling; ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
