Joining the Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) as a Plant Maintenance Engineer at the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) - Shakopee offers a stable career focused on improving the well-being of all Minnesota as while maintaining critical infrastructure.

Primary

Responsibilities include:

+ Perform skilled repairs on HVAC, power equipment, refrigeration, and food service systems.

+ Manage the energy management system and execute quarterly preventive maintenance tasks.

+ Maintain precise unit logs and mechanical room records for all assigned buildings.

+ Assist subcontractors and other trades as needed; adapt to and learn new facility systems.

** Minimum Qualifications*
* To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. + Current licensure in Minnesota as a First Class C Boiler Operator or higher.  (

NOTE:

Applicants with current licensure in Minnesota as a Second Class C Boiler Operator may be considered for a provisional appointment until obtaining licensure as a First Class C Boiler Operator.)

** Physical Requirements*
* The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required for this position. These components may consist of a tuberculosis screening, commercial driver's license (CDL) drug test, and/or respirator clearance.
