Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Position has extensive latitude to exercise the authority and control over the resources necessary to oversee and maintain the KBI Forensic Science Center facility. Must monitor facility management control systems ensuring the facility is properly maintained and down time is minimized. Responds to building systems issues after hours. Supervises and directs maintenance, repair and cleaning work of the facility.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

* Follow preventative maintenance schedules on building systems that includes repairs, service and implement modifications when needed.

* Manages the installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, such as heat, electrical power, refrigeration, water supply, and sewage systems.

* Monitor Forensic Science Center (FSC) facility management/control systems - electronically and visually monitor and troubleshoot building systems; coordinate with contractors as repairs are needed; maintains records and responds to after hours building related issues to ensure the building remains safe and operational.

* Monitor FSC security system - monitor receiving area software/cameras for security and alarms and receive goods from common carriers with deliveries to the building.

* Coordinates FSC facility related purchasing activities with the business office and laboratory administration. Takes delivery of goods, delivers to the appropriate areas of the building, and confirms delivery of orders.

* Supervises the maintenance and repair staff; ensures the facility is properly cleaned and maintained, monitors and maintains adequate supply of janitorial supplies.

* Maintains control measures over worker safety practices and care of equipment, tools and supplies

Qualifications

Education:

* High School, GED

Licensing & Certification:

* Driver License

Minimum Qualifications:

* Must possess experience in the troubleshooting or repair areas of electrical, mechanical/piping or HVAC

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous experience in maintenance of a Commercial building.
