Position Summary:

An Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role to ensure every patient, family member, and staff person has a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for exceptional patient care. The EVS Tech is responsible for janitorial duties, which include cleaning and disinfecting all assigned areas of the hospital and providing a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Job Duties:

• Dusts furniture, woodwork, and equipment.
• Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms.
• Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and vacuums.
• Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas.
• Shampoos rugs and furniture.
• Cleans vents, fans and other equipment using vacuum machines or appropriate tools.
• Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials.
• Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.
• Removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for new occupant
• Follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
• Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
• Participates in educational programs and in service meetings.

Monday
- Friday Day Shifts with rotating Saturdays.

Education:

High school diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
