The Impact You’ll Make
The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure the facility, equipment, and grounds are safe, functional, and well‑maintained. This role supports daily operations by responding to maintenance requests, conducting preventative maintenance, and assisting with facility improvement projects.
What You’ll Be Doing Maintenance & Repair- Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC support.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, building systems, and fixtures.
- Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with emergency repairs and after‑hours issues as needed.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Document all maintenance activities and ensure work is completed according to standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and report potential issues before failure.
- Maintain facility cleanliness, functionality, and safety, including common areas, exterior grounds, and storage areas.
- Support set up and breakdown of work spaces, furniture, and equipment.
- Monitor building systems (lighting, security, HVAC) and notify leadership of abnormalities.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and PPE requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and local regulations.
- Participate in safety audits, inspections, and corrective action activities.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and supervisors.
- Assist in managing inventory of maintenance tools, supplies, and replacement parts.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Two to four years of facility maintenance, building operations, or related experience.
- Experience in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or equipment manuals.
- Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, stand/walk for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions. Comfortable working in confined spaces or at heights as needed.
