Position Title
Custodian (2nd Shift, Sheboygan Campus) – University of Wisconsin, Green Bay Campus.
Job OverviewPrimary work hours are 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with occasional nights and weekends for seasonal work or specialty events. The custodian maintains overall appearance and cleanliness of the campus buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities- Maintain clean and clear walkways, ensuring free of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
- Monitor and secure facility interior and exterior entrances, reporting issues as required.
- Maintain campus grounds, lawn care, snow removal using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Document and report repairs, violations, and pest control needs.
- Organize supply areas and equipment; document inventory and request additional supplies.
- Utilize basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables.
- Assist with furniture, piano, and equipment moves as required.
- Stock restrooms and custodial work areas with necessary supplies and products.
- Perform winter duties such as snow removal and salting of building entrances.
- High School Diploma or equivalent at time of application.
- Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, a valid driver’s license upon appointment.
- Basic computer skills, including use of e‑mail and internet.
- Preferred bilingual skills in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Oneida.
- Knowledge of proper methods, materials, and equipment for general custodian work.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as a vacuum cleaner or floor scrubber.
- Knowledge of basic safety precautions and handling of toxic chemicals.
- Experience with heavy lifting methods for safety.
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Tolerance for temperature extremes during snow removal activities.
- Lift up to 50lb. from floor to waist occasionally.
- Lift up to 30lb. from floor to overhead occasionally.
- Stand and walk continuously throughout an eight‑hour shift.
- Push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, move furniture, perform repetitive motions, and frequent stair and ladder climbing.
Hourly wage: $17.00, with an additional $0.80 per hour for all weekend hours and all hours worked between 6:00p.m. and 6:00a.m. This position is covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions.

Employment DetailsFull‑time University Staff appointment. A criminal conviction investigation and pre‑work screen examination will be conducted on finalists. A six‑month probationary period is required.
