Pay Range: $18.85 - $28.30

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors, fixtures, washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures, sweeping, scrubbing, and refinishing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpet, restocking restrooms, replacing light bulbs, and reporting repairs.
  • Assists with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof; may use ladders.
  • Handle heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers, and finishes.
  • Remove waste: collect and transport soiled linen, empty trash containers, change sharps containers, transport solid and hazardous waste to compactors, recycle material, empty cigarette receptacles in smoking areas, maintain equipment cleanliness, and report equipment failures to maintenance staff.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and provide quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and departmental quality standards.
  • Attend all required in‑service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.
  • Consistently meet time schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Preferred:
    High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Preferred:
    One year experience
  • Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
  • Can operate equipment
  • Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co‑workers

  • Perform repetitive work according to set procedures
  • Stressful, fast paced
  • Works in contaminated, isolation, construction and renovation areas
  • Occasionally works in extreme temperatures and around unpleasant smells

Atrium Health is seeking a full‑time Environmental Services Technician. The position promotes environmental protection by maintaining healthy and safe medical facilities for employees and visitors. Responsibilities include routine cleaning of floors, carpets, walls, assigned project work, and general cleaning tasks, and maintaining acceptable cleanliness standards in linen rooms, trash rooms, collection containers, dock area, and all entrances under shelters and courtyards.
