Facilities Maintenance Technician

Join our team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician! We’re looking for a dependable team player to perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, safety, and general upkeep of District buildings, grounds, and facilities.

Salary Range

• The advertised range for Facilities Maintenance Technician is $63,432 - $77,748 with a maximum opportunity of up to $93,300 with tenure and strong performance.

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on District buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds.
• Assist with various construction projects as needed.
• Maintain grounds, landscaping, and other outdoor spaces including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, weed control, irrigation, pressure washing, and related activities.
• Move and assemble furniture, shelving, equipment, materials and supplies as needed.
• Safely operate and maintain a variety of common hand tools and power tools, vehicles, and equipment used in facilities and grounds maintenance, including tractors, mowers, RTVs, and similar equipment.
• Work collaboratively with Facilities staff and other District personnel to support the maintenance and operation of District facilities.
• Help coordinate work performed by student workers assisting with landscaping, cleaning, and other duties.

• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and landscaping equipment.

• Ability to identify building maintenance issues, determine corrective actions and determine when additional assistance is needed.
• Ability to follow established safety procedures and use good judgment and common sense in the working environment.
• Have the ability to work effectively and professionally to coordinate with District staff for a variety of projects and events.
• Ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner.
• Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and exercise sound judgment while accomplishing tasks required to maintain District facilities.

• Possession of a valid Washington state driver’s license and have a good driving record.
• Maintain a current CPR/First Aid card.
• Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
• Aerial lift certification is preferred but not required.
• Additional construction-related certifications are a plus but not required.
