Processing Maintenance Manager

Taylor Shellfish Farms is one of the largest producers of farmed shellfish in North America. The company is quickly growing in sustainable shellfish farming with new techniques and innovative growing methods.

POSITION DESCRIPTION The Maintenance Shop Manager is responsible for the management of repairs and preventative maintenance of company equipment at one or more locations and managing a team of technicians who are responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of various equipment, buildings, grounds, machinery, and vehicles as well as project management of new construction projects.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Monitor and assign tasks using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.

Maintain, update and utilize CMMS software for Departmental billing.

Organization & planning of projects and maintenance personnel.

Employee orientation, development, training & performance management and improvement systems

Maintain and repair all processing equipment, buildings and grounds

Employee compliance to safety and regulatory concerns

Maintain a positive and cohesive work environment

Work closely with the processing leadership team for all repair projects

Maintain a clear and timely communication line will all processing teams

Identify efficiencies and cost saving opportunities on projects and repairs

Research and order parts and supplies for inventory and maintenance repairs.

Payroll review and submittal using our HRIS Paycom.

Monthly and annual budget management for maintenance operations/departments

Actively manage budgets and employees in departments A620

Will make sure maintenance activities are properly communicated to all stakeholders.

Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, standard operating procedures and schematics.

Must have experience with processing line and building maintenance

Ability to work independently at times with little direction

Well organized and detail oriented

Must maintain positive company morale

Regular, reliable, predictable attendance EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, JOB & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS5+ years of experience in shop management preferred5+ years of experience in marine diesel and electronics, heavy equipment and automotive maintenance and repair preferred.

Hold a valid Washington State Driver’s License Hold a valid Washington state boaters’ card or ability to obtain.

Formal training from an accredited technical college or trade school or completion of an equivalent multi-year apprenticeship program preferred

Safety training preferred:
Forklift training, tractor training, motor safety, first aid classes

Must be 21 years or older PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to sit, stand and/or walk on uneven ground up to 10 hours per day.

The employee must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat

The employee needs to be able to lift up to 75 lbs. (Occasionally required to exert up to 125 lbs. of force)
The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and managers.

Must be able to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation

Must have agility and balance to safely climb on machines, boats, etc.
