The laundry services aide monitors laundering machines to clean articles such as sheets, towels, rags, wiping cloths and by performing the following duties.
Essential Job Functions- Collects soiled linen from patient care areas.
- Sorts soiled linen, loads articles into washer and selects correct setting for chemicals per standard work.
- Starts machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
- Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them successively into dryers per standard work dry times.
- Sorts dried articles according to type. Folds and places items in appropriate storage bins or shelves. Delivers clean linen to patient care areas on a scheduled basis.
- Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities on laundry lists.
- Treats contaminated articles as per policy
- Keeps accurate count on linen poundage.
- Stamp new linen as needed with company logo.
- Clean Urgent Care on the weekend or as needed.
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED): or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Possible exposure to blood and or body fluids / infectious disease / hazardous waste requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Exposure to odorous chemicals / specimens and Latex products.
