Sewer Collection/Inflow and Infiltration Foreman II
Position Summary
The Foreman II is responsible for oversight of the City’s sanitary sewer collection system, stormwater conveyance system, and the I&I Division, including oversight of the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City’s infrastructure.
The I&I Division is tasked with cleaning, televising, and evaluating the City’s sanitary sewer system; performing rehabilitation of sanitary sewer infrastructure; administering the private property I&I reduction program; monitoring contractor work; and overseeing the operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer infrastructure to eliminate infiltration and inflow (I&I).
This position is required to assist with field work activities, complete division tasks and assignments, and provide guidance and direction to crews. The position also assists with administrative duties as needed and may be temporarily assigned the duties of the Underground Utilities Superintendent as directed.
As a public employee, this position is responsible for supporting the reliable delivery of utility services. The position requires consistent and prompt response to emergency repairs occurring outside normal working hours, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid class B CDL with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Ability to clearly and correctly communicate with the public and co-workers is required.
- Ability to effectively supervise employees within the Underground Utilities Department is required.
- Ohio EPA Class II Collection license or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Five (5) years of experience in the Underground Utilities or other closely related experience (construction, plumbing, electrical or similar).
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining sanitary sewer, water distribution, and storm sewer systems.
- NASSCO PACP, LACP and MACP certifications or the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
- Maintain residency in Shelby County or an adjacent county within 12 months of hire.
