• High School Diploma.
• Physical ability to lift 75 pounds, climb to high places, stand and walk continuously, and perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions.
• Ability to pass aptitude tests and obtain licensure as a herbicide and pesticide applicator.
• Current State Vehicle operator’s license and ability to operate district fleet vehicles safely.
• Insurable, dependable attendance, and ability to work unsupervised.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude toward coworkers.

• Maintains lawns, trees, shrubs, landscaping, sidewalks, steps, entrances, and removes snow or ice.
• Removes bottles, trash, paper, and cans from the entire site.
• Marks fields and sites for athletic events.
• Maintains and repairs equipment and vehicles; reports needed repairs.
• Sweeps and dusts surfaces, cleans, polishes interior surfaces, cleans and maintains carpets and hard‑surface floor coverings, moves furniture as needed.
• Recommends supplies and equipment to Building Custodial Manager.
• Works a revised schedule and substitutes for other custodial staff when necessary.
• Takes part in holiday, extended day and weekend activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

• Coordinates and directs summer part‑time lawn crews.
• Performs all duties listed for Groundskeeper II.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Level JX – starting salary $22.18 per hour;
Level KX – starting salary $23.23 per hour. Starting 7/1/2026: JX $22.55 per hour, KX $23.62 per hour.

Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a 30‑minute unpaid break. 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) for 12 months.
