Well Services Support Technician

Alaska West Express’s division, Lynden Oil Field Services, provides support for exploration, production, and service companies on the North Slope to develop Alaska’s oil and gas resources.

The Well Services Support Technician performs day‑to‑day field frac support operations on location, operating well‑support equipment, executing jobs, monitoring quality control, and ensuring safety.

Shift & Benefits

The team works a 3‑weeks‑on / 3‑weeks‑off rotation. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with up to 6% company contribution, and paid sick leave.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend and maintain timeliness.
  • Work long or irregular shifts (12+ hours) on the North Slope, two or three weeks on / off rotation.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplied materials.
  • Follow guidelines and policies set by the Frac Supervisor and customers.
  • Monitor frac tank and upright tank levels, keeping them within specified limits.
  • Assist in winter operations including blowing lines down, controlled release, and operating heaters.
  • Operate a FRAC Water Heating Unit (Hot Oiler) and pneumatic bulkers.
  • Drive a heavy‑duty transport vehicle to and from well‑site locations daily.
  • Hook up hoses, verify connection types, and ensure tight fittings.
  • Examine equipment and report necessary repairs to supervisor or Maintenance Shop.
  • Use personal mobile device for essential work tasks such as MFA, accessing Dayforce, and time‑sensitive communications.
  • Provide proppant handling services, manifolding rig‑up, and tank measurement during the job.
  • Participate in set‑ups and demobilization, assembling required equipment with power and hand tools.
  • Operate equipment according to job specifications, monitoring pressures, fluid levels, and temperatures.
  • Perform pre/post operational checks, monitoring for safe and efficient operation with minimal downtime.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance and clean, service, and store equipment at shift end.
  • Report all health, safety, and environmental hazards, near misses, and incidents in accordance with AWE guidelines.
  • Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies, including PPE use and fit‑for‑work.
  • Participate in AWE HSSE proactive safety programs like Observation program, Job Safety Analysis, and S.E.T.A. cards.
  • Promote Lynden Oilfield Services and maintain professional relationships with co‑workers, current customers, and potential new customers.
  • Operate and drive company equipment safely in inclement weather and challenging facilities.
Qualification Requirements

Education And/Or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 to 5 years of fracking experience (preferred).
  • Experience working on the North Slope or similar environment.
  • Experience creating a strong team environment, promoting communication, multitasking, and adapting to situations.
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Minimum age 21 years.
Certificates And Licenses
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Haz Mat endorsement (preferred).
Language Skills

Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with co‑workers, supervisors, and managers, understand procedures and warning signs, and respond to inquiries. Ability to understand CFR 49 Hazardous Material regulations. Hazardous communication, respiratory protection, PPE, and environmental training completed.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two‑digit numbers.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to understand detailed written and oral instructions; prioritize, problem‑solve in time/safety‑sensitive situations; adapt to changing requirements and conditions.

Physical Demands

Requires sitting, standing, walking for extended periods; using hands, fingers, arms, and feet to steer and operate controls. Must kneel, stoop, or crouch to examine equipment. Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Requires vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception.

Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Wear PPE as outlined in AWE Industrial Health and Safety Manual Chapter 2.27, including hard hat, safety toe shoes/boots, gloves, chemical splash suits, safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection, respiratory protection, and arctic winter gear.

Typical Work Environment

Work outside in extreme cold and wet conditions, high or confined spaces. Work adjacent to hazardous materials and heavy tools. Moderate noise level, hearing protection required.
