Temp Building & Grounds Attendant

Primary Purpose of Job & Essential Duties/Responsibilities

The City and Borough of Sitka is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to serve as Temporary Facilities Attendants. This role is vital to maintaining the beauty and hygiene of our public spaces, ensuring a positive experience for residents and visitors alike.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Maintain high standards of cleanliness for public restrooms and surrounding areas.

Monitor and replenish essential supplies and manage waste/recycling removal.

Perform light maintenance tasks including trash/litter cleanup, power-washing, and painting.

Assist with traffic flagging and other duties as needed to support City operations.

Minimum Qualifications & Other Job Requirements/Expectations

Previous experience in custodial work or restroom sanitation is preferred.

A strong work ethic and the ability to work consistently through the peak season.

Clear communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with the public.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

The ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor outside in potentially adverse weather conditions.
