Scheduler

The job of Scheduler is done for the purpose of assisting with the development of the master schedule and continuously processing, updating, and correcting all materials related to the school's master schedule and grade reporting; registering incoming freshmen and off-level students and providing student information to authorized parties in compliance with established policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Performance Responsibilities:

Scheduling & Academic Coordination

Develops the school's regular year and summer school master schedule in collaboration with building administration and in alignment with course requests, district goals, graduation requirements, etc. Utilizes student information systems and scheduling software to build, maintain, and adjust the master schedule accurately and efficiently. Coordinates schedule revisions throughout the school year, including adjustments related to enrollment, staffing, and program modifications. Monitors class sizes and course capacities and makes recommendations to administration regarding sections and schedule changes.

Determines the number of study halls required for the assignment of teachers and the maintenance of a homeroom database for the purpose of ensuring student course and class size. Ensures compliance with state requirements, district policies, and collective bargaining agreements as they relate to scheduling, staffing, and student programming. Continuously evaluates and improves scheduling processes by utilizing data, stakeholder feedback, and best practices to increase efficiency and student access to academic opportunities.

Coordinates and collaborates with the Information Services team regarding course codes, course titles, and scheduling software.

Student Records & Enrollment

Performs enrollment activities for incoming freshmen and off-level students for the purpose of complying with established requirements. Generates reports related to course recommendations for incoming students Maintains and processes a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records (e.g., grades, transcripts, student information, databases, student requests, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.

Supports school counselors to audit and verify student records, ensuring all seniors are enrolled in the necessary courses to meet state and district graduation requirements.

Communication & Reporting

Collaborates with school staff for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining services and programs. Prepares a variety of documents and reports including but not limited to data summaries and reports following each scheduling cycle to evaluate outcomes and inform future master scheduling decisions.

Administrative Support

Attends department meetings, in-service sessions, workshops, and seminars to gather and share necessary information Attend evening family nights including graduation and support evening program and agenda

Terms of Employment: 260 day work calendar

Working Conditions:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
