Brief Description of Duties:
Required Iiraininci and Knowledcie:
The hourly pay range for this position is $26.32 - $34.44. The starting pay range is $26.32 - $29.02, depending on qualifications.
Duties include answering telephones and directing calls coming through the Village's computerized switchboard to appropriate departments/ individuals in a polite, expeditious manner, as well as assisting walk-in visitors;
Assists the Village Clerk's office in such duties as real estate tax transactions and voter registration;
Performs mail sorting, opening, check payment sorting, counting and tallying utilizing tape machine calculator or other electronic calculators;
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required;
Prior switchboard and/or administrative support in an office environment preferred;
Must have excellent hearing, verbal communication skiiis, telephone and interpersonal skills, along with a pleasant and welcoming personality;
Must be able to manage multiple calls in sequence;
Must have the ability to operate moderately sophisticated office equipment including, but not limited to, the Village's switchboard, personal computers, printers, calculators, etc.;
Must be fluent in English;
Bilingual skills helpful, but not required.

Under general supen/ision, this position is responsible for directing aif caiis coming through the Village's switchboard to appropriate departments and individuals. Aiso assists Viiiage Clerk's office with various clerical tasks.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS I ABILITIES- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, along with a pleasant and welcoming personality;
- Ability to operate basic office equipment, including tape machine and other calculators, desktop computer, printers, and be abie to read a computer display;
- Abiiity to utilize hand-set or head-set and operate push buttons on teiephone, system board, or cat! routing software using a desktop computer;
- Capable of managing multiple calls in sequence;
- Must to follow alt safety rules and regulations of the Viitage.
- Prior switchboard and/or administrative support experience in an office environment
- Must be fluent in English;

The duties performed by this position are representative of sedentary work with occasiona!exertion of 10 pounds of force to move boxes of fiies or insurance booklets. The work is regularly in an indoor environment, in an office setting that is quiet except for office equipment background noises. Subject to frequent interruptions by telephone callers and walk-in visitors.
While performing the duties of this position, the empfoyee is constantly required to sit, talk, listen, hear the normal range of sounds, read written reports, use hands to operate essential office equipment including computer/typewriter keyboard, teiephone, etc. Visual acuity is important. The employee is frequently required to stand and periodicaliy move to other locations within the building.
