Bilingual Teacher - Spanish

Duties

* Deliver linguistically appropriate lessons aligned with Illinois Learning Standards, WIDA ELD Standards, district resources, and educational philosophy.

* Differentiate instruction for varying English proficiency levels using diverse instructional strategies and materials.

* Establish a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment that promotes engagement and cooperative behavior.

* Participate in Student Learning Team Meetings to analyze data and collaborate on student support strategies.

* Attend weekly professional development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance student growth.

* Encourage behavior aligned with cultural expectations and classroom norms.

* Integrate technology to enhance instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

* Maintain accurate records for English Learners in accordance with district and state compliance.

* Support school-wide initiatives, committees, and instructional improvement efforts.

* Serve as a multilingual and bilingual leader, advocate, and content expert, sharing expertise in language development, culturally sustaining practices, and effective instructional strategies with colleagues to strengthen school wide support for English Learners.

* Duties may include, but are not limited to, instructional planning, classroom management, student assessment, parent communication, and other responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the students, school, and educational programming.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in elementary education

* Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with:

* EL (English Learner) endorsement

* Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
