Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Middle School Gym Teacher to join our part-time team at Arie Crown Hebrew Day School in Skokie, IL. As a gym teacher, you will be responsible for leading physical education classes for our middle school boys and promoting a fun, engaging learning environment that fosters teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness.

Responsibilities:

• Teach physical education classes to middle school boys, incorporating games, sports, and activities that promote teamwork and physical fitness

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and national standards

• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment

• Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to develop and implement curriculum goals

• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance

• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices

Requirements:

• Prior experience in physical education, preferably in a middle school setting

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Schedule:

• Part-time position, 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm daily, Monday through Friday

Compensation:

• Competitive salary: $18,000 annually
