Position: Special Education Teacher - Cross Categorical Instructional (Life Skills)

Special Education Cross Categorical Teacher

The Special Education Cross Categorical Teacher will have a strong foundation in accommodation, modification, and delivery in specialized instruction for academic and functional success. The Special Education Teacher will possess the ability to use data based decision making to identify needs, create goals, evaluate progress, and align service delivery. The teacher is expected to provide all service and consult minutes as well as develop coordinate, and facilitate IEP meetings.

Experience developing, implementing, and revising Behavior Intervention Plans is preferred. Candidates should have experience working with diverse students. Strong communication skills and experience building home-school connection is valued.

Qualifications:

  • Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure with LBS1 required
  • Solutions-focused approach to supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of all children
  • Experience working within an elementary school setting and a diverse (culturally, racially, ethnically, linguistically etc.) student population

Salary: $62,879 (BA,
1) minimum annually with benefits. Actual compensation based on education and experience.
