Advanced Learners Program Mathematics Teacher
The ALP (Advanced Learners Program) Mathematics Teacher will instruct advanced middle school students in Mathematics as part of an interdisciplinary team, including Geometry class for high school credit. The teacher will cooperatively work with other classroom teachers, special services team, and complementary subject area teachers. The teacher will be responsible for effectively teaching the curriculum to meet individual needs of students, evaluating student progress, and communicating progress to parents.
Qualifications:
- Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure appropriate to assignment
- K-5 classroom and 6-8 content area teachers are required to maintain an ESL endorsement, or obtain it within their first two years in the district and prior to earning tenure
- Secondary (Grades 6-12) endorsement in mathematics
- Gifted Education Seminar completed, preferred or must be willing to complete
- Solution-focused approach to supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of all children
- Experience working within an elementary school setting and a diverse (culturally, racially, ethnically, linguistically etc.) student population
- Fluency in a second language, preferred
Salary: $62,879 (BA,
1) minimum annually with benefits. Actual compensation based on education and experience.
