Step into an impactful role as a School Psychologist supporting elementary schools in the vibrant communities surrounding Skokie, IL. For the school year, a contract opportunity is available serving grades K-2, where you’ll truly make a difference as a leader among dedicated educators and staff.
This full-time position consists of 37.5 hours per week, with a consistent schedule from 7:45 A.M. – 2:55 P.M. You’ll support a caseload of approximately 75 students with IEPs, with a primary focus on leading and collaborating with the special education team, rather than extensive direct services.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate eligibility meetings and ensure all key participants are engaged and informed
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, bringing psychological and academic insights to the table
- Lead problem-solving and MTSS meetings to drive positive outcomes for students
- Organize and coordinate 504 meetings
- Oversee and guide the special education team in best practices and compliance
- Occasionally participate in evaluation components, such as cognitive assessments
- Maintain organized records and uphold confidentiality at every step
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience working with elementary student populations
- Expertise in IEP process, eligibility determinations, and special education law
- Comfort with cognitive assessments and evaluation procedures
- Strong organizational and consultative skills
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams
