Job Overview

The Coordinator of Health Services serves as the lead health professional for Skokie School District 68, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. The position provides leadership in developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive school health services, ensures compliance with state and federal mandates and reporting, and supports an inclusive and culturally responsive school environment. The Coordinator supervises the school health clerks and collaborates with staff, families, and community agencies to promote a healthy learning environment for equitable access to resources and education for all students.

Preferred Qualifications
  • One of the following credentials (required):
    • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsed in School Nursing or (willingness to obtain licensure)
    • Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure with relevant experience
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field with demonstrated experience in school or community health coordination.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Knowledge of state and federal health regulations applicable to schools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, organize, and manage health services across multiple sites.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred but not required:
    Bilingual endorsement/approval or fluency in a second language, in addition to English.
Salary and Benefits
  • Work Year: 224 work days
  • Leave: 12 Sick Days / 2 Personal Days
  • FLSA Status:
    Exempt
  • Retirement: IMRF or TRS
  • Benefits:
    As outlined in the District 68 administrative benefits plan - family health insurance benefit with the full premium cost for the HMO, PPO HDHP or PPO (paid by the Board of Education)
  • Salary:
    Commensurate with experience ($72,500 - $90,000)
