The Application Engineer position serves as security architect and administrator for Covenant Living’s Workday HCM, Payroll, Purchasing, and Finance platforms. This role is primarily responsible for supporting and managing the role based access control, policies, and configurations used to manage access to data and functionality within the Workday platform. Responsibilities also include designing, building, and testing the data connections between the Workday ecosystem and third-party systems.

The Application Engineer position serves as security architect and administrator for Covenant Living’s Workday HCM, Payroll, Purchasing, and Finance platforms. This role is primarily responsible for supporting and managing the role based access control, policies, and configurations used to manage access to data and functionality within the Workday platform. Responsibilities also include designing, building, and testing the data connections between the Workday ecosystem and third-party systems.
The Applications Engineer serves as a hybrid functional–technical partner to Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Human Resources, and IT, ensuring Workday role compliance, vendor integrations, and reporting structures operate efficiently, securely, and in alignment with organizational strategy.

Preferred Degree:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain, or related field
Preferred Certificate(s): Workday Pro Certification (Security, Reporting, Procurement, or relevant functional area)
Experience
- 4+ years of working directly with Workday configuration, reporting, and security frameworks
- Official Workday Pro certification is preferred.
- Experience with Workday intersection security and business process modeling
- Experience developing integrations, catalogs, and Workday reports
- Experience in Healthcare, Senior Living, or related field (preferred, but not required)
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Ability to apply new technical knowledge quickly
- Deep understanding of Workday Configuration ownership and data knowledge.
- Strong understanding of Workday security architecture, business processes, and integration accounts.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to validate reasonableness of outcomes
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- High learning agility and organizational skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with limited supervision
