Position OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and organized individual to join our team as a Yard Dispatcher. In this role, you will coordinate the efficient delivery of lumber, hardware, and building materials to our customers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage logistics effectively are essential.
Primary Responsibilities- Schedule and coordinate the timely delivery of lumber, hardware, and building materials to customers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency, considering traffic, fuel efficiency, and delivery time windows.
- Communicate with delivery drivers to provide necessary information and instructions.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns related to deliveries promptly and professionally.
- Keep customers informed about the status of their orders and any potential delays.
- Provide excellent customer service through proactive communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with yard staff to ensure accurate picking and loading of orders.
- Monitor and track inventory levels to facilitate accurate order fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including order details, delivery times, and any issues encountered.
- Generate necessary paperwork and documentation for each delivery.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant experience is a plus.
- 3+ years of previous experience in lumber yard operations, dispatching, or logistics.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with lumber, hardware, and building products.
- Proficient in using computer systems and basic software applications.
- Teamwork:
